Jackson Cabin
Namesake :
The Boston capitalist, Francis Jackson, was responsible for construction of the Sisco furnace located beside this cabin, thus the namesake. One of the finest furnaces ever seen on the lake, it had an annual production of as much as 4,200 tons of pig iron. With such production, this little hamlet employed nearly 100 individuals and played a significant role in the record high population of the town in 1850!
