Whallon Cabin
Namesake :
Whallonsbay is just a boat drive up the north shoreline past Barn Rock Bay, the Palisades and Split Rock Wild Forest. Judge Reuben Whallon resided at "the Poplars" in Essex NY as he conducted business and manufacturing operations for several decades beginning in 1814. The bay was therefore called "Whallon's Bay", and the western part of the town of Essex was named "Whallonsburg."
